🔄 Inside traffic has priority

Vehicles already circulating inside the roundabout have absolute right of way. Entering vehicles must slow down and yield — they do not have priority regardless of size or speed.

TEST TOPIC

⏸️ Entering vehicles must yield

When entering a roundabout, you must give way to all vehicles already circulating. Wait for a safe gap before entering. Do not force your way in.

↙️ Enter from the right, exit to the left

Since Saudi Arabia drives on the right, roundabouts are navigated counter-clockwise (from your perspective entering). Keep left when circulating to maintain flow.

🚗 Multi-lane roundabouts

Choose your lane before entering based on your exit. Right lane for the next exit; left lane if taking a further exit. Signal left when leaving the roundabout to indicate your exit.

📢 Signal your exit

When approaching your intended exit on the roundabout, indicate left to signal to other drivers that you are leaving. This prevents other vehicles from pulling in front of you.

🚶 Pedestrians at roundabouts

Pedestrian crossings at roundabout entry and exit points require drivers to give way to pedestrians waiting or crossing. Slow down when approaching these crossings.

Common mistakes

What most people get wrong

Common roundabout mistakes tested in the Dallah computer test

Thinking the vehicle on the right has priority

At uncontrolled junctions, the vehicle on the right has priority. But at roundabouts, this rule does NOT apply — inside vehicles always have priority regardless of direction. This confusion is one of the most common wrong answers in the test.

Assuming the largest vehicle has priority

Vehicle size never determines right of way. A motorbike inside the roundabout has priority over a truck trying to enter. Right of way is based on position — inside vs. entering.

Not signalling when leaving

DO: Signal left as you approach your exit to warn other vehicles. DON'T: Leave the roundabout without indicating — this causes confusion and near misses.

Stopping inside the roundabout

Unless an emergency requires it, do not stop or park inside a roundabout. Keep moving at a consistent speed to maintain traffic flow. Stopping inside causes hazardous situations.

About roundabout rules in Saudi Arabia

Vehicles already circulating inside the roundabout have right of way. Vehicles entering the roundabout must yield and wait for a safe gap before entering.
No. The "vehicle on the right has priority" rule applies at uncontrolled junctions — not at roundabouts. At roundabouts, inside vehicles always have priority over entering vehicles.
Counter-clockwise (anti-clockwise) when viewed from above, since Saudi Arabia drives on the right-hand side of the road.
Yes — you should signal left when approaching your exit to indicate to other drivers that you are leaving the roundabout. This helps prevent collisions with vehicles entering.
